Desciption: Sulukule (the Water Tower) is an old settlement within the area of Istanbul's historic peninsula which has historically been continually occupied by the Romani people for over a thousand years. Sulukule now faces the risk of loosing its cultural heritage and the built environment that has produced this heritage under the development plan proposes the demolition of the existing buildings and neighbourhood.
